This specimen was lot 30117 in Heritage Sale 3115 (Chicago, May 2024), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Victoria gold 1/2 Sovereign 1895 MS63+ PCGS. A nice example boasting pastel luminosity. From the Ezen Collection." This specimen is from a type was struck 1893-1901 in large numbers. A half sovereign was worth ten shillings.
