This specimen was lot 3257 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$927 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Victoria, 1837-1901 Sovereign 1884. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Great Britain, Victoria, 1837-1901, sovereign of 1884, extremely fine or better.)"

This type was minted in substantial numbers 1871-85 and is common.

Recorded mintage: 1,770,000.
