This specimen was lot 75086 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy 3 Pence, 1872. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS MS-64." This threepence, roughly equal to a half dime, was struck 1838-87 and is common.
Recorded mintage: 1,298,000 plus 4,488 for the Maundy sets.
Specification: 1.41 g, 0.925 fine silver, 16 mm diameter, reeded edge.
