This specimen was lot 1923 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $72. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Shilling, 1871. Victoria. Young head. NGC graded AU-55." This shilling was struck 1838-87 for circulation. This subtype, with die numbers, was issued 1867-79.
Recorded mintage: 4,910,000.
Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, 23.6 mm diameter, reeded edge, 0.168 troy oz ASW.
