This specimen was lot 20935 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "William IV Proof Shilling 1831, plain edge, PR64 Cameo PCGS, dappled grayish gold and reddish blue iridescent surfaces, a completely original old-time piece from one of the Coronation Proof Sets of this year. Difficult to find so nice." This type was struck for William IV in 1831 and 1834-37. The 1831 is proof only and is rare.
