This specimen was lot 33052 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "William IV bronzed Proof Farthing 1831 PR65 Brown NGC. A clearly bronzed example as indicated by the cabernet color of the fields, bold silkiness present over of the devices and hardly a mark to speak of. Mislabeled on the holder as an issue of George IV. From the Lake County Collection." Farthings were struck for William IV 1831 and 1834-37 and, surprisingly, priced about the same as "young head" farthings of queen Victoria.
Recorded mintage: 2,688,000 plus proofs.
