This specimen was lot 31673 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: George IV Shilling 1827 MS63 NGC. Bold blue iridescent toning that really makes this coin "pop" when viewed in the right light. Certainly scarce in Mint State condition, this coin is tied with two others at the 63 level at NGC with just one higher." This type is reported for 1825-29 and superseded the laureate wreath type (KM 687).
