This specimen was lot 75587 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Crown, 1745. London Mint. George II. PCGS AU-58. Variety with roses in angles. A seldom-encountered date in this near-Mint State quality, boasting bold satiny surfaces and pastel mauve toning, with only a touch of wear to the portrait. From the Richard August Collection." This half crown was struck 1743 and 1745. The LIMA half crown of 1745, tho in greater demand, is more available. The half crowns of 1750-51 deleted the roses on the reverse. The reverse lettering, "M·B·F·ET H·REX·F·D·B ET·L·D·S·R·I A·T·ET·E·" translates as, "King of Great Britain France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneburg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire".
