This specimen was lot 1724 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,606 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "George I. 1714-1727. 1/2 Guinea 1715, London. First laureate head. NGC XF Details. Rand befeilt (Filing on edge)." This type was struck 1715-24. While not rare, it is expensive in nice condition. The dates 1717 and 1718 appear the most often. A 1721 half guinea with an elephant and castle below the bust exists but is very rare.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
