Stack's Bowers 2021 ANA sale, lot 46040

This specimen was lot 46040 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 1/2 Crown, 1707. Edinburgh Mint; mm: E. Anne. NGC F-12. After the Union. Glossy and bold with colorful iridescence in the protected areas. Minor marks have been long worn into the complexion and the eye appeal is strong. From the Loch Ness Collection." This type was struck at the London mint 1707-09 and 1713 and Edinburgh mint 1707-09 and is very scarce in nice condition. This date comes with a "SEXTO" edge (somewhat available) and "SEPTIMO" edge (rare).
