This specimen was part of lot 27639 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $558.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Anne to George II silver coins, various types, average grade VF and toned." The silver penny was struck for queen Anne 1703-13 in sufficient numbers that it is fairly common today. It is still struck in silver for the Maundy sets but was superseded for circulation by the copper penny in 1797.
