This specimen was lot 1633 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 16,000 CHF (about US$21,413 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Commonwealth, 1649-1660. Gold Double Crown 1654, London. Mintmark "sun". Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung (Very rare, especially in this condition). NGC MS64." This type was struck 1649-57 and was accompanied by a gold crown (Fr-171, five shillings) and unite (Fr-269, twenty shillings). All are rare.
