This specimen was lot 37039 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, ND (1634-35). London Mint; mm: Bell. Charles I. PCGS VF-35. Group D. From the Richard August Collection." This sixpence was struck by Charles I during the period he was attempting to rule without Parliament. The ship money controversy reached its height in 1634-36.
