This specimen was lot 2294 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it sold for $2,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Unite, ND. James I, 1603-1625. Second coinage. Fifth bust. Mint mark, Cinquefoil (1613-15). Crowned bust of King shouldering scepter and holding orb. Reverse: Crowned shield of arms, 1 R at sides. Much nicer example than is usually encountered with a good portrait of the king. PCGS graded AU-53." This unite of James' second issue was accompanied by a rose ryal (Fr-230), angel, half angel (Fr-233), spur ryal (Fr-231), double crown (Fr-235), crown (Fr-238) and half crown (Fr-237). With the accession of James I we drop "England" as the country name and adopt the current "Great Britain."
