Sincona sale 43, lot 4293

This specimen was lot 4293 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$895 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Glarus, 15 Schillinge 1814. Glarus. Schräg gerippter Rand. Gutes sehr schön. Vorzüglich-FDC. Leicht berieben. NGC AU58. (canton of Glarus, fifteen schilling of 1814. Glarus mint. Good very fine, Extremely fine-unciculated, Slightly polished.)"

This rare type is known for 1806-14. Fifteen schilling was forty five rappen; one hundred rappen made a frank.

Recorded mintage: 7,067 for all dates.

Specification: 4.0 g, silver, 26.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
