Glarus 1617 schilling
This specimen was lot 4270 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 32,000 CHF (about US$38,842 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Glarus, Schilling 1617, Glarus. MO.NO.GLARONEN:1617. Gekrönter Doppeladler ohne Kreuz. Rv. SANCT9 - FRIDOLIN9. Hl. Fridolin mit Bibel und Wanderstab. Von grosser Seltenheit. Fast sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Glarus, schilling of 1617. Obverse: crowned double-headed eagle without cross; reverse: St. Fridolin with Bible and staff. Of high rarity, About very fine.)"
This type also comes undated. Both are very rare, as is all the coinage of the canton prior to the Helvetic Republic.
