This specimen was lot 2607 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,000 (about US$1,416 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN AB 1871 · BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND, 2 Pfennig 1969 J. RR Winz. Randfehler, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines deutschen Fabrikanten und Geschichtsfreundes. (Germany, Federal Republic, two pfennig of 1969. Very rare, an edge bump, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck for circulation in 1950 and 1958-68. The type was converted in 1968 to copper plated steel (KM 106a) and struck in that form until 2002. This example is valuable because it is bronze (non-magnetic) instead of copper-plated steel.

Specification: 3.25 g, bronze, 19.25 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 106 (bronze) or KM 106a (copper-plated steel), J. 381.
