This specimen was lot 2566 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$226 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Bundesrepublik Deutschland, 2 Deutsche Mark 1963 F, Stuttgart. NGC MS66+. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar, Finest certified by NGC."
This circulating issue featuring physicist Max Planck is a common date of a type struck 1957-71 at four mints (D, F, G, J). This example realized ten times the catalog value. Many of the early proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 3,752,000 plus 47 proofs.
