This specimen was lot 4142 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Germany. 5 Marks, 1957-J. Centenary - Death of Joseph Freiherr von Eichendorff. Nice lustrous example. NGC graded MS-63." This one year type, despite its substantial mintage, is expensive, more so than the regular issue (KM 112.1), itself not common.

Recorded mintage: 198,000 plus 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.2 g, 0.625 fine silver, .225 troy oz ASW, 29 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-117; J-391.
