This specimen was lot 46642 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMAN EAST AFRICA. 1/4 Rupie, 1906-A. Berlin Mint. Wilhelm II. PCGS AU-58." This is a common date of a type struck 1904-14 at Berlin and Hamburg for the German colonies in East Africa which today comprise Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
Recorded mintage: 300,000 plus 118 proofs.
Specifications: 2.92 g, 0.917 fine silver, 19.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
