Geneva 1847 25 centimes
This specimen was lot 3277 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 2,250 CHF (about US$3,264 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"25 Centimes 1847, Genf. Probe in Billon. Stempelschneider Auguste Bovet. Sehr selten. Fast FDC. Zaponiert. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, twenty-five centimes of 1847, pattern struck in billon, Geneva mint. Very rare, About Mint State, Lacquered.)"
This pattern has a different shape of shield compared to the production version and lacks the initials "AB". All cantonal issues ceased in 1848 and confederate coinage was introduced in 1850.
