Sincona sale 102, lot 5290

This specimen was lot 5290 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 10 Centimes 1847, Genf. Silberabschlag. Sehr selten. Leicht gereinigt. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, city and canton of Geneva, tencentimes of 1847, Geneva mint, off metal strike in silver. Very rare, lightly cleaned, extremely fine.)"

The production version in billon has the mintmark "AB". All cantonal issues ceased in 1848 and confederate coinage was introduced in 1850.

Specification: 2.66 g, billon, 22 mm diameter, this specimen silver, 2.94 g.
