This specimen was lot 72810 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Geneva. Silver Sol, 1785-G. NGC MS-65. An immensely pleasing Gem, this attractively toned piece is the finest graded specimen in the NGC census." This type was struck by the city of Geneva 1785-88. Twelve sols = florin, 12 florins, 9 sols = thaler = 153 sols.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 1 g, billon, 18 mm diameter.
