Geneva 1776 6 quarts
This specimen was lot 4271 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$363 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 6 Quarts (1 Sol 6 Deniers) 1776, Genf. Silberabschlag. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, Geneva mint, struck in silver. Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1722, 1750, 1763, 1766, 1766, 1775-76 and is common. The SCWC and Numista erroneously state that these bear a "G" mintmark. Silver strikes exist, made for presentation. One thaler was 96 sols and one sol was four quarts.
