This specimen was lot 3031 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "GENEVA: Republic, BI 3 sols, 1776, a superb example, PCGS graded MS65." This type was struck 1763-66 and 1775-76. This is the only date with initials "IG". Twelve sols = florin, 12 florins, 9 sols = thaler = 153 sols. The silver issue was likely struck for presentation.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 1.9 g, billon or silver, 22.5 mm diameter.
