Sincona sale 95, lot 4241

This specimen was lot 4241 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 6 Sols 1639, Genf. Mzz. B - G. Schön-sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, six sols of 1639, Geneva mint, mintmark BG. Fine-Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1632-35, 1638-41 and 1678. The 1634 comes with initials BG and GB. One thaler was 96 sols.

Record mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.53 g, billon, 25 mm diameter, this specimen 2.20 g.
