Geneva 1574-G sol

Sincona sale 102, part of lot 5198

This specimen was part of lot 5198 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 90 CHF (about US$136 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 1 Sol 1574 & 1575, Genf. Beide mit Mzz. G. Lot von 2 Stück. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, city and canton of Geneva, one sol of 1574 and 1575, Geneva mint. Very Fine, two pieces.)"

This type was struck 1536-40, 1550-76, 1580-97, and many dates have mintmaster's initials. One thaler was 96 sols.
