This specimen was lot 2538 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 1 Sol 1551, Genf. Münzzeichen "Stern". Selten. Fast vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, one sol of 1551, Geneva mint, mintmark star. Rare, About extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1536-40, 1550-76, 1580-97, and many dates have mintmaster's initials. The 1551 comes with a star (as here) or a "B". One thaler was 96 sols.
