This specimen was lot 4193 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 2,500 CHF (about US$3,465 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 1 Sol 1539, Genf. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Fast vorzüglich, Schrötlingsrisse. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, sol of 1539, Geneva mint. Very rare especially in this condition, About Extremely Fine, Flan cracks.)"
This type was struck 1536-40, 1550-76, 1580-97, and many dates have mintmaster's initials but not this one. One thaler was 96 sols.
