This specimen was lot 603 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS (United), Gelderland, "rider" ducatoon, 1734. Deeply toned over choice full AU details, microscopic pitting only. Recovered from: Vliegenthart, sunk in 1735 off Zeeland, Netherlands." The province of Gelderland struck this type 1704, 1707, 1711-12, 1717, 1720-23, 1730, 1733-40, 1744, 1759-67, 1773-75, 1785-92 with various mintmarks. A 1734/3 overdate exists.
Recorded mintage: 319,227 for 1733-34, a slightly better date.
