Gabon 1969-NI 1000 francs
This specimen was lot 1358 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gabon. 1000 Francs, 1969. President Bongo, head left. Reverse: Stump of Okume tree. Only 4000 struck of this one year type. NGC graded Proof 66 Ultra Cameo." Other NCLT's for 1969 include a 3000 francs (KM 7), 5000 francs (KM 8), 1000 francs (KM 9) and 20,000 francs (KM 10). Gabon has issued little coinage, preferring to use the French backed CFA franc. Wikipedia comments, "El Hadj Omar Bongo Ondimba (born Albert-Bernard Bongo; 30 December 1935 – 8 June 2009) was a Gabonese politician who was the second President of Gabon for 42 years, from 1967 until his death in 2009." Exports are 66% crude oil, 20% manganese ore and 8% lumber.
