This specimen was lot 53092 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Fukien. 10 Cents, Year 17 (1928). PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield. Struck to commemorate the Canton Martyrs Memorial. A pleasing little coin with sharp design detail throughout, silky luster in the fields and light gray toning. A die clash can be faintly discerned on the reverse." Although the Foochow mint struck numerous varieties of ten and twenty cents during the republic, no large denominations were issued. This type was also struck in year 20 (1931).
