Fukien (1932) 10 cents Y-390
This specimen was lot 53094 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $3,240. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Fukien. 10 Cents, Year 21 (1932). PCGS Genuine--Edge Damaged, Unc Details Gold Shield. Canton Martyrs Memorial commemorative. Despite the noted edge damage, this minor nevertheless exhibits nothing in the way of handling and presents great shimmering brilliance. Highly desirable with a tremendous amount of radiance throughout." Although the Foochow mint struck numerous varieties of ten and twenty cents during the republic, no large denominations were issued. This and an accompanying twenty cents (Y-391) were the final issues from this province.
