Friesland 1608 rijksdaalder Dav-4829
This specimen was lot 1903 in Jean Elsen sale 149 (Brussels, December 2021), where it sold for €110 (about US$149 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, FRIESLAND, Provincie, AR Nederlandse rijksdaalder, 1608. Vz/ Geharnast bb. r. met zwaard en provinciewapen. Kz/ Gekroond Generaliteitswapen. Defect aan de rand. Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Friesland, Dutch rijksdaalder of 1608. Obverse: armored bust to right with sword and provincial arms; reverse: crowned arms of the Generality divide the date. Edge defect, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1606-13, 1617-22, 1626-30, 1650-51 and is fairly common is well worn condition.
