Fribourg 1527 groschen
This specimen was lot 5147 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Groschen (Gros) 1527, Freiburg. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Kleine Flecken. Exemplar der Slg. Froidevaux, Auktion SINCONA 6, Zürich, Mai 2012, Los 2408. (Switzerland, city and canton of Fribourg, groschen or groat of 1527, Fribourg mint. Rare, Good Very Fine, Minor spots.)"
This type is noted for 1526-29 with many more without date. One groschen was three kreuzer or 1/20 thaler early in the sixteenth century. The groschen was superseded by the batzen (four kreuzer) in Switzerland.
