This specimen was lot 74984 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDO-CHINA. Centime, 1886-A. Paris Mint. PCGS MS-63 Red Brown." This type was struck in Paris 1885-94 in substantial numbers and this is a common date. It superseded a type struck for French Cochin China. Japan occupied the colony during World War Two and the French were never able to regain control thereafter. It is now Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
