Fr Eq Africa 1948 2 francs rev DSLR.jpg

French Equatorial Africa was an administrative grouping of the colonies of Gabon, French Congo, Ubangi-Shari (now the Central African Republic) and Chad. Cameroon is sometimes included, but as it was a United Nations Trust Territory, it was administered separately. The group was dissolved in 1960 when its components obtained independence. This Bazor obverse, seen on many other French colonial issues, also appears on the accompanying one franc (KM 6).

Recorded mintage: 5,040,000.

Specification: aluminum, 27 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 7.
