Steve Album Auction 53, lot 2929

This specimen was lot 2929 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANKFURT: Free Imperial City, AR 20 kreuzer, 1784, mintmaster initials G PCB N, scarce, a well struck lustrous near mint example, PCGS graded AU58, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This was a reissue of a type first struck in 1781. This obscure coin bears a substantial catalog value. One convention thaler was 120 kreuzer.
