This specimen was lot 32232 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $793.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Frankfurt. Free City Taler 1763-IOT AU55 NGC. With striking slate gray toning. A scarcer type in higher grades. Ex. Ernst Otto Horn Collection." After suspending the production of thalers in 1717, Frankfurt burst into action in 1762-67, issuing Dav-2219 thru Dav-2225. This type, the only one for 1763, is quite scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
