This specimen was lot 853 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$805 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Frankfurt am Main, Stadt Dukat 1648. Gutes sehr schön. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, ducat of 1648, good very fine.)"
The SCWC divides this issue into two subtypes: eagle's head right (KM 104.2), struck 1649-60 and 1666, and eagle's head left (KM 104.1, shown here), struck 1646-49 and 1652-54. While much more available than the contemporary double ducat (Fr-971), it is not common.
