This specimen was lot 2201 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$653 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Frankfurt am Main, Stadt, Dukat 1637. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Frankfurt am Main, ducat of 1637, Almost extremely fine-extremely fine)"
This type is listed for 1633-44. While much more available than the contemporary double ducat (Fr-971), it is not common.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW; this specimen is 3.43 g.
