Frankfurt 1619-AE 1/4 thaler
This specimen was lot 3880 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,879 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANKFURT, STADT. 1/4 Reichstaler 1619, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, winz. Zainende, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, quarter thaler of 1619, in the name of Ferdinand II. Very rare, handsome patina, minor clip, light scratches, extremely fine.)"
The SCWC notes that the "Æ" mintmark can appear on the obverse or the reverse. All the quarter thalers of this city in the seventeenth century (KM 20, 29, 53, 71, 156, 159) are rare.
