This specimen was lot 3670 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €20,000 (about US$25,836 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"STADT 1 1/2 Dukaten 1612, auf die Krönung von Matthias zum römischen Kaiser. (Verzierung) IMP · CAES · MATTHIAS · AVG Gekröntes und geharnischtes Brustbild l. mit reich verzierten, umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies, in der Rechten Reichsapfel, mit der Linken das Zepter schulternd//ELECTVS · / BONO · REIP / · ANNO · / · MDCXII ·, umher Eichenkranz. GOLD. RR Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, 1½ ducats of 1612, on the coronation of Matthias as king of the Romans. Obverse: crowned, mantled and armored bust left, wearing the Order of the Golden Fleece and holding orb and scepter; reverse: date and inscription, oak leaf wreath around. Rare, choice uncirculated.)"
Friedberg lists one, 1½, two, three, five and ten ducats issued for this occasion, all rare.
