Künker sale 264, lot 3667

This specimen was lot 3667 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €400 (about US$517 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSMÜNZSTÄTTE Albrecht II. von Habsburg, König 1438-1439. Pfandinhaber Konrad von Weinsberg, 1431-1452. Goldgulden o. J. (1438-1439). GOLD. RR Randfehler und in Teilen schwach ausgeprägt, sehr schön. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, Albert II of Habsburg, 1438-39, undated gold gulden. Rare, rim bumps, slightly weak strike, very fine.)"

While other fifteenth century gold coins of Frankfurt are more common, this one issued for Albrecht of Hapsburg is somewhat available.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW; this specimen is 3.40 g.
