In 1845, the French quarter franc struck since 1803 was converted into a twenty-five centime coin. It seems doubtful that many people noticed as the new coin was the same size and weight as the old. This Paris mint product is common in all grades. The type and the denomination was terminated in 1848.
Recorded mintage: 2,999,520[2].
Specification: 1.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 15 mm diameter, plain edge. Designed by Joseph François Domard, 1792-1858.
