This tiny coin was struck at Lille, France, under the régime of king Louis XVIII (1814-24). It is the first and commonest date of a type struck 1817-24. Unlike Napoleonic quarter francs, which are divided among six types, all quarter francs of this reign are of this type, which is fairly common. The catalog[1] notes 35 dates for the type, some very rare. This issue is scarce but not rare.
Recorded mintage: 14,264[1].
Specification: 1.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 15 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: F.163/11, KM 714.
