This coin, called a dixième d'écu au bandeau, was the French equivalent of a dime. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the dixième d'écu = 12 sols. The type was struck 1740-71 and is recorded for the Paris mint ("A") for most of those years. This issue is from Grenoble (mintmark "Z") and is priced[1] as scarce.

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 22 mm diameter.
