This specimen was lot 31328 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1737-&. Aix-en-Provence Mint. Louis XV. PCGS MS-63. Bright and flashy, this choice Uncirculated example boasts a strong strike with bold design features and brilliant lustrous surfaces." This coin is an écu aux branches d'olivier from the Aix mint. This one is fairly common. This type was struck in France 1726-40.

Specification: 29.49 g, 0.917 fine silver, 39-41 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM.
