This specimen was lot 23820 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[2] noted, "Louis XV gold Louis d'Or 1735-M, Toulouse, MS64 NGC, sharply struck with lightly toned luster, rare grade for this early type." This specimen was offered again as lot 42197 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $4,080. This type is recorded for 1726-40 and is among the more common gold coins of the French ancien régime, this date is probably scarce but awarded little premium in Droulers[1].

Specification: 8.16 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22-23 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Norbert Roëttiers.
