This specimen was lot 845 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "France (Dijon mint), ecu, Louis XV, 1733/1-P, rare, NGC Fine 15, finest and only example in NGC census. Lightly toned, with traces of luster in legends and less wear and marks than expected for this grade, scarce date with definite overdate (could be 3/2) that is unlisted in KM." This coin is an écu aux branches d'olivier from the Dijon mint. Dijon mint issues are known for the entire span of the type (1726-40) but most dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 34,766.

Specification: 29.49 g, 0.917 fine silver, 39-41 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM, this specimen.
